Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights

The intellectual and industrial property rights pertaining to the University of Zaragoza are reserved, insofar as such rights are exclusively owned by the University or, where applicable, the University has authorization to use them. These rights extend to all elements comprising the graphic design of its website, including menus, codes, controls, navigation buttons, and all information hosted on it, including texts, graphics, images, sound, and any other material.

Likewise, the University of Zaragoza is the owner of the industrial property rights arising from the use of its trademark and any distinctive sign appearing on its website, as well as the domain name unizar.es.

In general, the University of Zaragoza reserves the rights of reproduction, modification, adaptation, public communication, maintenance, correction of errors, assignment, sale, rental, lending, and/or any other intellectual or industrial property rights that may correspond to it in relation to the contents of its website. Any exercise of the aforementioned rights, regardless of the manner or form in which they are exercised, shall require the prior written authorization of the University of Zaragoza.

The exclusive reservation of intellectual property rights shall not apply to content for which the University of Zaragoza has explicitly changed the licensing conditions applicable to any of those rights. In particular, where content is expressly stated to be covered by Creative Commons licenses, such licenses shall take precedence over the general reservation of all rights set out above.

Links to Other Websites and Web Pages

Where the website provides links to other websites and web pages owned by third parties, and notwithstanding any efforts to ensure that such third parties comply with appropriate standards, the University of Zaragoza accepts no responsibility for their content or for the services they provide and shall not be held responsible for the completeness or accuracy thereof.

Links from Other Websites and Web Pages

In order to allow other websites or web pages to link to the University of Zaragoza website, the University shall require compliance with the following rules, subject to a prior request for authorization to create such a link:

a) The link must identify the source.

b) Activating the “link button” must connect the user to the website or any of the web pages of the University of Zaragoza and must not result in the incorporation of their contents into the linking website or page.

c) The intellectual and industrial property rights of the University of Zaragoza must be respected. The linking website or page may not incorporate the University’s distinctive signs, logos, search engines, or other proprietary elements.

d) Likewise, the University of Zaragoza may establish links from its website to the website or web page in question, should it deem this appropriate.

In the event of non-compliance with these conditions, or for any other reason should the University of Zaragoza deem it appropriate, the University may revoke the authorization without any right to compensation or indemnification.

Disclaimer

The University of Zaragoza shall make reasonable efforts to prevent errors and, where necessary, to correct or update them as soon as possible. However, it cannot guarantee that errors will not occur or that the information contained on the website will always be fully up to date.

Under no circumstances shall the University of Zaragoza be liable for any potential infringements of intellectual or industrial property rights committed by any user of the website. Likewise, given the nature of the medium and the potential risks of content being altered by third parties, the University of Zaragoza excludes any liability that may arise from the content displayed on its website.

The University of Zaragoza does not guarantee that the website or its server is free from viruses and, therefore, shall not be held responsible for any damage caused by accessing the website or by the inability to access it. Nor shall it be responsible for communication failures, interference, or malfunctions caused by technical or telecommunications services provided by third parties or originating from servers not operated by the University.

Both the General Terms of Use and the Specific Terms and Conditions, as well as the Privacy Policy followed by the University of Zaragoza, shall be governed by Spanish law.

Any dispute relating to the University of Zaragoza website shall be subject to Spanish jurisdiction, with the parties expressly submitting to the Courts and Tribunals of Zaragoza and expressly waiving any other jurisdiction to which they may be entitled, should it differ from that specified above.
